Be prepared for the unexpected!
Hello, when we first started our annex build we lived in a different house to my mum.
We were hoping to rent a place for 6 months while the new building was finished and then to move in.
Due to various reasons this did not happen!
We were trying to sell our house to fund the completion of the build but the sale fell through twice, which was a bit of a nightmare.
When it eventually sold the new annex building was only about 2 months away from being finished so we decided to all move in together.
The main reason was to save money as you had to rent for 6 months at a time which wanting only 2 months was a big waste of money.
Well in lots of ways prepared for the unexpected as we found when moving in with my mum who had lived alone for 6 years with her dog.
Suddenly she had 2 young children and us descend on her.
Lets just say it was a very busy house, with lots of touchy moments, a few tears, and some cross words.
But as the old saying goes keep calm and carry on and just remind yourself that it’s not for long.
One thing it does do is give you a big push to get the new building completed.
We worked in the evenings and weekends to get finished.
Now much of what happened is forgotten as once the dust has settled you just all move on with your life.
We love it now, so just remember be prepared!!
Thanks
David
