Please let me help you make your granny annex building as mistake free as possible?

Mistakes are very easy to make when extending or altering your home and if you get things wrong, they can be expensive and time consuming to remedy and cause all sorts of knock on effects to other areas of your project.

To minimise the risk of such problems always:

Find a builder, architect, engineer, ideally someone who comes recommended from a friend relative or work colleague.

See their work, talk to people who have used them

Get as much information you can about what they have done for others, real life feedback is best

Get clear and accurate advice right from the start from a professional if possible

Have a clear plan in your head and on the drawing board of what you are setting out to achieve, it will change but at least start from a good position

Don’t cut corners with the choice of materials or labour, if either is a cheaper or inferior product or service to more expensive ones available you may well regret using it.

Ensure all who are working on your project are suitably qualified, and make sure they know what they are doing, preferably get things down in writing .

Try to employ people and tradesman that come recommended from friends and family.

Employ a professional to help guide you in areas you don’t understand to help reduce the risk of mistakes and help ensure you project runs smoothly and is a success.

Remember problems and mistakes happen all the time when you are building and extending but if you have the right plans in place, the correct team around you, getting over them and getting problems resolved is always possible and should not be to expensive or inconvenient.

I am suitably qualified to offer help and advice either via email or through direct contact on site or at you home, just drop me a line a start a conversation that could help your project be a building success.

Thanks

David
