Lockdown coming to an end…..I prefer things how they are!!

I am writing this really for my kids if they ever read this in the future just to say how things were in March, April and May 2020 during the covid 19 outbreak!!

we have spent the last 7 weeks locked together in our house, garden and venturing into the surrounding roads and forest when we can…

we are very lucky, we have a lovely house, open forest near us, bikes and a large garden, we have done so much…

played badminton in the garden, endless games of hide and seek [which I never wanted to end], baked cakes, counted birds in the garden, planted so many vegetables, painting large pictures, written stories, played monopoly so many times, shouted at each other but only very occasionally and I can honestly say do not want it to end….

I realise we need to get back to work but hope things are different, I am really going to try to make changes so we can enjoy more of the above, life is not about siting in traffic queues, chasing targets and working, yes we have to pay bills but there is so much more…..

we went out this afternoon and the roads are busy, the forest is more crowded, the little shop we use you now have to queue, things are starting to return to how they were…urgh!!

I have asked my 2 children lots of times how they are doing during the lockdown and they seem to be loving how things have been, yes school work has been via the Internet and mum and dad have been teachers but they are not in any hurry to return to how things were, they are doing well, reading loads, painting drawing, playing…….just being kids and even better my daughter is having a lockdown birthday tomorrow, tents up, and we are ready to rock and roll…lovely

sorry its not about life in a granny annex but it kind of is!!
