ELDERLY NOT TALKING ABOUT THEIR CARE?
Just read about a poll by ComRes called Conversations About Care that found over 60% of people over 65 had never talked about what would happen if they could no longer live at home.
Many were not going to have a conversation about where they would live either.
In the United Kingdom this is a figure someone around 7 MILLION people, many of these people have no plans to even discuss what would happen as they age.
Independent Age have come up with a phrase “deniers” for the nearly 3 Million people who are not planning on having a conversation about ageing at all”
Now I know this is not the most exciting topic to have nor something I am sure people want to talk about as we age [ I am over 50 now so well aware about getting old all to well] but there are so many consequences for us all of not having this talk more of which I will cover in other posts/pages.
But as Janet Morrison of independent Age quotes “it is vital that families start talking about these issues now, so they’re there not left making important decisions at a time of crisis”
My aim with MGLivingSpaces is to help get people talking about the issues mainly around housing and offer solutions.
Please drop us a line about your situation and begin a conversation, don’t be a “denier” let us help you.
Thanks
David
