Fewer emotional and behavioural problems if kids are involved with their grand parents?

Just a quick note I found about grand parent involvement and granny annexes in America.

The U.S. Census Bureau says 10% of children under 18 are growing up with a grandparent in the house.

This may be a good thing.

A 2008 University of Oxford study among 1,500 teens in England and Wales found that those with a high level of involvement with their grandparents had fewer emotional and behavioral problems.

Both authors of the study  Ashbaugh and Butts confirmed what I learned building our grant annex that one of the biggest keys to successful multigenerational living is

1 -having the family conversation early about what the family is gong to do!

2 – Make sure you are planning ahead for the project rather than reacting to a crisis in the family which males the situation a whole lot more difficult.

Thanks
